In truth, that’s the first question people ask.
Mojon was the best ball fetcher ever. Throw a tennis ball into a forest in the dead of night and he’d be back with it in a flash. He was our first and most amazing dog.
He delighted children at the park, dropping his tennis ball at their feet, looking them in the eye, wagging his tail and patiently waiting for THE next throw.
One day, Mojon engaged the attention of a special-needs child. The young boy never threw the ball very far or too accurately, but he absolutely squeeled with delight every time Mojon brought the ball back and dropped it in his lap. His mother turned to me and asked where she could buy a dog just like Mojon. At just that moment and for just that purpose I thought cloning might not be such a bad idea.
A beautiful merlot, soft, ripe and complex........Wine Enthusiast, May, 2008
The bench of Mojon’s Bench has absolutely nothing to do with a place Mojon ever sat or slept on. Bench is an agricultural term describing a flat body of land above a body of water.....the location of our 2-1/2 acre vineyard is on such a bench, above the Russian River in the Alexander Valley of Sonoma County.
It is here that we grow the grapes that become Mojon’s Bench wines. We limit our production to 500 cases and craft our wines with the passion, energy and desire to bring out the finest qualities of the grape, creating wines similar in composition and character to the renown wines of the Pomerol region in France.
And thus we honor Mojon and we hope to bring joy to your palate as he brought joy to all who knew him.
