Stephen and Zoe Schwartz are caring family owners dedicated to producing the finest quality wines. Our small 2-1/2 acre vineyard is located in Healdsburg. The vineyard, planted in 1994-95, produces merlot and cabernet franc which we blend in the style of renown wines of the Pomerol and St. Emilion regions of France.
The vineyard is located on a ‘bench’ in close proximity to the Russian River. This area of the celebrated Alexander Valley of Sonoma County is famous for fine tannins, softer, less bitter and less astringent wines than those of neighboring Napa Valley. The vineyard is blessed by nature, with warm days, cool nights, rich gravelly loam soil, the basis for top Merlot terroirs.. This unique combination of the right soil and the right climate accounts for the aromatic, ripe, full expression of Merlot at Mojon’s Bench’s Vineyards.
